‍I think the biggest thing that sets Great Smiles apart or the way I do things apart is that I'm so small as far as the business goes. I've got five people on staff, and I own the company. I'm not owned by a corporation or a group or anything like that that answers to insurance demands. It's me, the patient, and the small group to deliver the care that people need and manage the rest. And when I wake up, the job is difficult and running the business is difficult, but with the team that I have and I come in, everybody's smiling, everybody's ready to rock, they're all ready to do what needs to be done to deliver the care that's expected at Great Smiles.
From the time you walk in the door, the first face that you see is going to set the tone, and that's Maria, and she does it. She's always smiling and peppy and optimistic, and I love it. Nobody loves coming to the dentist, nobody. I don't like going to the dentist. I love a good cleaning and I love to get things problem-solved if I have any in my mouth, but nobody likes going to the dentist. And so everything that can be done to mitigate that initial discomfort or fear, it ought to be done. And when people leave, it's extremely important for them to feel a certain way. Did they like it? Are they happy? Did they feel comfort? And would they be willing to tell somebody about it? Because I want people to want to run out of here yelling, "Hey, this guy, hey, I love this guy." And sometimes it happens. Creating the team is where you get those emotions instilled, where it's more of an experience rather than the laying back in the chair part.
